A new addition to the Paisley FM 107.5 programme schedule this Sunday, 2 February at 10.00pm when Bob Wood presents ‘Paisley’s Musical Buddies’. His first programme on Sunday night features Paisley legends Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan.
Gerry and Joe are featured both together and solo. The anniversary of Gerry’s death was on 4th January. He died nine years ago in 2011 age 63. Joe Egan, also from Paisley, is now 73 and is in poor health.
Bob Wood (pictured in studio 1 of Paisley FM) is now a retired radio and television writer, producer, lecturer and broadcaster who made his first live broadcast some 50 years ago on John Peel’s late night BBC Radio One show, as a “performance poet”, and has since been a frequent broadcaster in Scotland, and on network and local radio in the UK, as well as guest spots on radio stations in the USA, Canada & New Zealand.
A resident of Erskine, Renfrewshire for over 40 years, he now volunteers and works part-time as an independent broadcaster, writer and producer specialising in music documentaries.
Over the forthcoming weeks, his Sunday night show at 10pm on Paisley FM 107.5 will feature the music of Paisley’s best-known artists, unveil some musical “loose connections”, and venture “off the beaten track” with some significant favourite discs, lesser played artists and recordings, and the stories behind them. Produced and presented by Bob Wood.
Paisley’s Musical Buddies, Sunday 2 February 10.00 to 11.00pm on Paisley FM 107.5 and DAB digital radio and the Paisley FM App.
