Jeff Zycinski guests this morning, Friday with Mike McLean

21st May 2021

On this morning’s (Friday 21 May) Mike McLean morning show on Paisley FM 107.5 after 11am, Mike talks to Jeff Zycinski, former Head of BBC Radio Scotland about his life and times and his new book ‘Travels From My Twilight Zone’.

Jeff Zycinski was appointed Head of BBC Radio Scotland in January 2005 and left BBC Scotland in January 2018. Jeff started his career as a news journalist in 1989 and, in 1992, joined BBC Scotland as Senior Producer in Selkirk.

Jeff posted on his FB page: “How great is was to speak to Mike McLean this morning as we recorded an interview about my book ‘Travels From My Twilight Zone’. He, after all, must be credited (or blamed) for encouraging my writing when, back in 1981, he aired my first short stories on his overnight radio show [on Radio Clyde 261].

And in a double whammy, how great that the interview was for Paisley FM, because I got the chance to thank Renfrewshire Libraries for publishing my first fiction in a wee book called ‘The Renfrew Line’ in 1981.”
