St Mirren lose 3-1 to Hibs

St Mirren lost 3-1 to Hibernian today, Sunday 27 January, despite Hibs being without head coach Neil Lennon.

Hibernian won their first league game after a dismal run of six matches. St Mirren are now bottom of the SPL table with 12 points from 23 SPL matches.

Neil Lennon, along with his assistant Garry Parker, were reportedly suspended on Friday night, 25 January, following a meeting with Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster.  Hibs coaches Eddie May and Grant Murray stepped up to oversee the victory over St Mirren.

Goals from Hibs substitute Oli Shaw (61 minutes), Darren McGregor (70) and Stevie Mallan (87) cancelled out St Mirren Simeon Jackson’s opener in 24 minutes, placing Hibs seventh in the table, with struggling Saints one point adrift of second-bottom Dundee at the foot of the Scottish Premiership.
