The Paisley Centre reopens after roof collapse

Update from The Paisley Centre on Tuesday 12th November: “The Paisley Centre will be open for business today (Tuesday). The Causeyside Street entrance of the building will be closed for approximately 1 week.”

The Paisley Centre shopping mall was evacuated after the ceiling close to the entrance in High Street collapsed.  Emergency crews were quickly at the High Street/Causeyside Street shopping mall just after 3.00pm on Monday 4 November, after reports the roof had fallen in.

It’s understood the centre was emptied as police and fire crews made the area safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We are currently in attendance at the Paisley Centre on High Street, Paisley following reports of a collapsed structure. Operations Control have mobilised a number of resources to the scene, after the alarm was raised at 3.09pm on Monday, November 4. There are no reported casualties.”
