Started as a mobile DJ in 1968 and worked evenings and weekends for 32 years. Worked full-time as a journalist for 45 years, before retiring in 2011.

Started working on hospital radio in Paisley in 1969, and has worked for the BBC, Radio Clyde and Dumbarton based Your Radio amongst others, in a radio career spanning almost 50 years. Specialises in music history and sports.

On PAISLEY FM 107.5 Mike currently presents the Morning Show (10am-1pm) on Mondays and Fridays, and his long-running show, The Vinyl Frontier, featuring the music of the 1960s, 70s and 80s exclusively, on Sundays, between 7.00 and 10pm.

First hour – The Top Ten at Ten – Hits and headlines from a specific year in each show.

The Vinyl Frontier – Sunday evening 7.00-10.00pm
The show has been running on radio in the west of Scotland since 2001 and has earned a strong following over the years. It will reach its 900th edition later this year, and has recently found its new home on PAISLEY FM

As well as a variety of regular features (currently including America’s Top 2 and I’ll Take Your Word For It, the show ranges across the main vinyl decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s, picking new entries or lesser known hits as well as a smattering of big hits from the charts of the week of broadcast. It’s a must for anyone who loves music and realises that nostalgia is not just a thing of the past.
