Name Laura Schuz
Hi! I’m Laura. If you have ever tuned into one of my shows you’ll know too well that I am most definitely not Scottish, but I have been in Glasgow for almost 2 years now so I’m crossing my fingers I’ll pick up the accent soon. When I’m not at work or recording, something I love to do is cook (hopefully) tasty food. I am however both clumsy and messy so there really is great potential for disaster.
How did you get into broadcasting?
The lovely director Norman Ross got me on board the Paisley FM bus. He is so encouraging and has given me a lot of confidence; I know that without his guidance I wouldn’t be learning and enjoying the role even half as much.
Random encounter with any celebrity?
Define celebrity.. I saw Nicola Sturgeon across the street one time?
I really like indie rock music but I try not to fill my shows with all of that because it’s important to me that I cover as many genres as possible. Eclectic is fun and I like to think there’s something for everyone. Unless you like heavy metal.
Any surprising facts your listeners may not know about you?
My favourite chocolate is Cadbury’s Chocolate Buttons… I can easily devour a big bag in one sitting. Sadly I’ve recently turned vegan so can no longer do that.
1st record ever bought?
Take That- The Circus
The “chosen few” choice records…
My all time favourite song that I will never get bored of is Twin Atlantic- Brothers and Sisters
