Veteran broadcaster Roger Day joins Paisley FM 107.5 with his weekly 60s Vinyl Countdown Show on Friday evenings at 8.00 until 10.00pm.
Roger will be playing favourite 1960s songs and a few rare tracks from the decade along the way.
It was in 1966 that Roger Day started his radio DJ career with Swinging Radio England which broadcast some 5 miles off the Essex coast on 227m on the then medium wave band. After SRE, Roger joined the popular Radio Caroline South on 259m in late 1966 which was on board the Mi Amigo off Essex, and stayed on Caroline South through the period of the Marine Offences Act in August 1967. He was on board the Mi Amigo when it was towed away by the Dutch supply company in March 1968.
He was back sea at 1970 on board the Mebo 2 from which RNI – Radio Northsea International – broadcast from off the Dutch coast. After that, he came ashore and worked at the launch of independent radio (ILR) in 1974 with Piccadilly Radio 261m in Manchester. Now he has a weekly show on BBC Radio Kent and here at Paisley FM!
