Renfrewshire Councillor Natalie Don, who is the SNP candidate for Renfrewshire North & West is making an appeal for residents to ensure they are registered to use their vote on Thursday 6 May for the Scottish Parliament Elections.
“With the Scottish Parliamentary election only a few weeks away it is important for those who are eligible to make sure they are on the electoral register,” said Councillor Natalie Don, SNP candidate for Renfrewshire North & West.
The Scottish Parliamentary election takes place on Thursday 6th May, with appropriate COVID regulations in place to ensure the safety of both voters and polling staff.
The deadline for eligible voters to be added to the electoral register is Monday 19th April 2021.
The simplest way to register is by completing the online form at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Councillor Natalie Don added:
“This is an important election for Scotland and everyone who lives here. The UK Tory Government has already indicated its plans to limit the powers of the Scottish Parliament, and more of this will follow if we don’t elect a strong SNP Scottish Government.
“The best decisions for Scotland will be made here by the people who live in Scotland, not by a Tory Government in Westminster who are intent on denying Scots the freedom to choose their own future.
“Scotland can do so much better than being tied to an increasingly right wing and isolationist UK. It’s important for everyone who wants a stronger, fairer Scotland votes SNP at the Scottish Parliamentary Election, but you have to make sure you are on the electoral roll to make your voice heard.”
