26th Apr 2021

Police Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was targeted in a robbery in Paisley on Saturday, 24 April 2021.

At around 7.20pm, a 57-year-old woman was in Neilston Road Paisley, near the Co-op store.  She had just withdrawn money from an ATM machine when she was approached by a woman who stole money from her.  She was not injured but has been left badly shaken by the incident.

The suspect is white, around 5ft. 4 inches in height, aged between 20 and 30 years old, with a slim build and gaunt appearance. She was wearing a dark hooded top and a facemask.

There was also a man in the area who police believe was an accomplice.  He is white, aged between 25 and 35 years old with a slim to medium build.  He too had a gaunt appearance and was wearing tracksuit trousers and top.

Both suspects ran off and turned into Stock Street, Paisley.

Officers are checking CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information.

Detective Sergeant Martin Clark said: “This is a busy road with lots of traffic, so a number of motorists may have captured footage which could assist our enquiries in locating these two people.  There would also have been plenty of people out last night with the warm weather, and I am asking them to think back and consider if they noticed this man and woman, maybe you noticed them loitering in Neilston Road. If you have any information, no matter how small, please do pass it on.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3643 of 24 April, 2021.  Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
